" Herceg Novi is town of sun, stairs, greenery and I'm amazed by it's beauty."

Herceg Novi is a small town that will make you fall in love with.
Tourists are back from year to year, not only because of the Mediterranean climate, sun and blue sea, but also because of his architecture, culture, and especially friendly locals. It's not easy to decide how and what to describe you first when each rock, ancient wall or fortress carries something of its own, carries lot of stories from it's turbulent past since 1382 when town was founded.
Promenade, Setaliste pet Danica, runs right along the coast and connects Igalo and Meljine. As the waves are crashing Herceg Novi’s ancient walls and you enjoy blue sea and sent of salt, those sounds, together with sun, leaves impression of the traditional Mediterranean city. In the very center of the promenade is Skver, for us locals, heart of the city. We live there 365 days a year. Whether it's bura (north wind) or yugo (south wind), summer or winter, there's always someone, tourist or local, to enjoy benefits of its mild climate. Near Skver proudly stands medieval Forte Mare fortress. She used to protect city from sea invasions but now days there is open space cinema. Watching movies under the stars is a unique experience that you shouldn’t miss. Another fortress that dominates Herceg Novi’s panorama is Blody Tower (Kanli kula) from where you can be amazed by uninterrupted view of the Boka Bay entrance.

And what about old town? Countless stairs and narrow streets leads up to the city center. On the upper square of the Old Town (Belavista) there is a church of St. Archangel Michael, built of fine Korcula’s stone and is connected with lower square and main street, Njegoševa, with passage throughout the Clock Tower. Except exploring historical attractions there you can enjoy shopping in boutiques with mostly Italian designers , rest in the park, send a postcard or take a cappuccino in one of the many cafes. Perhaps it's best to refresh yourself in a “City Café” and have a pleasant time on it’s beautiful open space terrace.
